The orchestra’s membership includes music majors and non-music majors.
Sign up for a five-minute audition; sign-up grids will be available online starting August 1, 2016. All string players on campus are welcomed and invited to audition, including non-music majors. Please prepare two brief selections of contrasting styles (fast and slow). These selections can be all or part of a larger work, e.g., an etude, concerto movement, a sonata movement, or any excerpt from a lesson book. Auditions are held during the first week of Fall and Spring semesters.
Woodwind, Brass, and percussion-section personnel are usually drawn from the University Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band; however, final decisions are made on a case by case basis. Please see these ensemble’s audition requirements or contact Mr. Felder directly.
