DMA Candidate, Voice


Shelley Roberts is a soprano from Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts who holds a Master’s degree in vocal performance and voice pedagogy from Westminster Choir College and a Bachelor’s degree in music education and performance from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. 

Her latest performance was as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro through the UCONN Opera and she recently sang in the Berkshire Opera Festival’s production of Madama Butterfly and in Panopera’s production of La Bohème in Northampton, Massachusetts at the Academy of Music. 

As the soprano soloist in Faure’s Requiem for Westfield State University’s Choral, Roberts captivated audiences as she did while performing Vaughn Williams’ A Sea Symphony with the Pioneer Valley Symphony Summer Series. 

In addition, her career has led her to play the Plaintiff in Valley Light Opera’s production of Trial By Jury and to perform the role of Bagatelle in Offenbach’s Bagatelle. Roberts also played Catherine in Offenbach’s Le Mariage aux Lanterns in Perigueux, France, among many other roles over the last five years.  

When she is not singing, Roberts is the director of the multi-generational chorus Hilltown Harmony and has taught musical theater and applied voice at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. Private lessons are available in her home studio.
