Keer Chen, born in Guangzhou, China, is a pianist and chamber musician. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the University of Connecticut on a full scholarship, studying with Angelina Gadeliya. She previously earned her Master of Music in Piano Performance from Boston University and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Piano Performance and Chamber Music from the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, China. Introduced to the piano at an early age by her mother, Chen has studied with Geng Xie, Haonan Chen, Claire Chiu, and Andrius Zlabys.

Chen’s performance activities span solo piano, chamber music, and collaborative performance. Recent engagements include the Spectrum Concert at UConn’s Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, solo recitals at von der Mehden Recital Hall, and appearances as a collaborative pianist in instrumental recitals. She has also performed at Xinghai Concert Hall, the Experimental Theatre of Guangzhou Opera House, Yamaha Music Hall Guangzhou, Grandview Theatre, and the Sky Stage at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. As a collaborative pianist, Chen has worked extensively with instrumentalists and vocalists from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds. At the University of Connecticut, she will serves as the pianist university’s concert choir in Fall 2026; during her graduate studies at Boston University, she served as a collaborative pianist at the College of Fine Arts, performing in recitals, chamber music concerts, and community performances.

Alongside her performing career, Chen has extensive experience in piano pedagogy and has taught students across a range of ages and levels. Beginning in Fall 2026, she will serve as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Connecticut, where she will teach piano applied lessons to non-major students.

Chen has been recognized in numerous competitions for her solo, chamber music, and collaborative performances, with honors including the First Prize in the 17th Hong Kong (Asia Pacific) Piano Competition 2021 – Beethoven Piano Competition, the Best Collaborative Pianist Award at the Hummingbird Music Awards of the China Youth Music Competition, and won the First Prize in 2015 Guangzhou Opera House Arts Education Fund Music Scholarship Competition. She also received scholarships from Boston University and The Musical Club of Hartford.
