Daniel Goldberg holds a PhD in music theory from Yale University, a master’s degree in music theory from the University of British Columbia, and a bachelor’s degree in music from Carleton College. He studies culture, perception, and performance of meter and rhythm, focusing on Bulgarian folk music and dance. Goldberg has presented at national and international conferences, including meetings of the Society for Music Theory and the Society for Ethnomusicology, and his work has been published in journals including Music Perception, Empirical Musicology Review, Engaging Students, and Nature Human Behavior. He has also served as managing editor of the journal Analytical Approaches to World Music. He joined the faculty of the University of Connecticut in 2017.
