This vocal ensemble is a large mixed choir comprised of UConn faculty, staff, graduate and undergraduate students as well as members of the Greater Storrs Community. The Festival Chorus rehearses once per week on Monday evenings – 7:00-9:00pm. This ensemble provides singers with the opportunity to be part of an outstanding community organization and to express themselves through the art of joyous choral singing. The Festival Chorus regularly collaborates with the UCONN Concert Choir and Symphony Orchestra in performances of choral/orchestral masterworks.  Recent performances range from Brahms' A German Requiem to Orff's Carmina Burana to works of living composers. This semester the chorus will collaborate with the UConn Concert Choir and UConn Symphony Orchestra in presenting Beethoven's Ninth Symphony in December.  Experience in singing in a choir and music sight-reading is recommended, but all interested singers who can  learn the repertoire each semester are welcome and encouraged to be part of this outstanding choral organization. Festival Chorus may be taken for no credit (with a small membership dues each semester) for anyone who is not a registered UConn student.
