Now in its eleventh year under the direction of Dr. Matthew Russo, the UCONN TROMBONE CHOIR is composed of students from many different majors at UConn. The UConn Trombone Choir commits itself to developing the repertoire for trombone ensemble. In 2022 it premiered Matthew Kennedy’s Bounce for trombone sextet. It premiered UConn Trombone Choir alumna Silvia Gopalakrishnan’s Highlands and Maria in 2024. The choir performs original music for trombone ensembles dating back to the sixteenth century and selections from pop, jazz, film, show tunes, television, and video games.
