Leah Craft Bedard joined the United States Coast Guard Band as co-principal oboist in February 2016. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Georgia with teacher Reid Messich and her Master of Music degree at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music with former Houston Symphony principal oboist, Robert Atherholt. Although she resides in Connecticut, she is a member of the IRIS Orchestra in Memphis, TN and is the adjunct oboe teacher at the University of Connecticut. Leah is married to USCG Band French horn player, Timothy Bedard and together they enjoy raising their young children Malachi and Bethany.
