Matthew Bilik

Matthew Bilik comes from The Ohio State University where he served as Visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory for two years. He is a graduate of Indiana University and The University of North Texas. Dr. Bilik’s work examines French modernism, tonal stratification, and modalism after the nineteenth century, and his recent Intégral article explores key duality in Fauré and Duruflé as an outgrowth of melodic-harmonic divorce. He is passionate about incorporating popular music into his theory classrooms and enjoys composing, playing piano, and biking in his free time.
