COVID-19 Practice and Rehearsal Room Rules

  • Non-Majors are not permitted to use any of our facilities this semester. We are very sorry and hope to welcome you back soon
  • Rehearsals, lessons, and practice sessions during the Fall 2020 semester are by reservation only. You may not use this space without express permission of the Department of Music.
  • The person to whom the room has been assigned is the only person allowed in the room at the assigned time.
  • If a room is unoccupied, that does not mean it is available; it is because it has been left intentionally empty to circulate the air from a previous rehearsal or lesson. You may not, under any circumstances, use a room that has not been assigned to you.
  • All rehearsals, lessons, or practice sessions are limited 30 minutes per room. You must vacate the room after 30 minutes. Please set a timer so that you do not inadvertently violate this rule.
  • You must clean all surfaces in the room both before and after you use it. Cleaning wipes as well as a specialized cleanser for pianos have been placed in every room
  • Please keep the door open when you leave a room
  • If it is possible for you to wear a mask while practicing or rehearsing, do so. String players, percussionists, and pianists are required to wear masks at all times while practicing or rehearsing.
  • Rehearsals with multiple people must maintain appropriate physical distancing. Please plan on being at least 6 feet apart (preferably more) if your group consists of strings players, percussionists, or pianists. Please plan on remaining 12 feet apart if your group consists of singers, brass players, or woodwind players.
